Wigan Casino

David is perhaps most renowned for his Wigan Casino / Northern Soul paintings. To quote Lancashire magazine "David's paintings are synonymous with the Northern Soul scene".

As a teenager David was a fanatical regular at the Wigan Casino. In the 1990s he turned his attention to a series of paintings that depicted the Northern Soul scene in the late 1970s.

Back then David had no expectation of how popular these pictures would become today. He has had several major exhibitions of his Wigan Casino paintings and is collected by such people as Paul Weller and members of Ocean Colour Scene.

In 2008 David was approached by the makers of a major new feature film (based around the Wigan Casino) to supply the artwork. Please see the "Souled Out" page for more information.
